In throwing a dinner party you should consider making Ina Garten's recipe for Lamb Sausage in Puff Pastry. Your male guests will love the upscale take on Pigs in a Blanket and being able to assemble the appetizer ahead of time is perfect for a host who needs to pull off more than one dish.
To make these puffed morsels you will bake 1 lb of lamb sausage at 400 degrees for 20 - 25 minutes. While the sausage is baking, thaw out 2 sheets of puff pastry. I use Pepperidge Farm's puff pastry as tastes great and is easy to come by.
Once your puff pastry sheets are thawed, you will divide the pastry sheets in two parts and wrap each lamb sausage in approximately 4" of puff pastry. After all of the sausages are wrapped, bake them for 25 minutes at 400 degrees.
Ready for plating, I cut the lamb sausage in 1.5" bites. The small bites are easy to pop in your mouth and for dipping.
Next time I make these I will use several different sausages and pair each sausage with a variety of mustards or dipping sauces.

These look yummy! Love the recommendation on other ways you can improve the appetizer.
